Substance Use Therapist
Natalie Montañez is a Substance Use Therapist at Vista Magna. She has worked as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor since 2017. She began her clinical work in Central Florida, counseling individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents in the community counseling setting. She then transitioned to working with addicted individuals in 2018 at the Seminole Center for Co-Occurring Disorders, providing mental health and substance use counseling to adults in a residential setting. She combines Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centered Therapy with Evidenced-Based Practices in her sessions, and takes a Strengths-Based approach with her clients.
Natalie received her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida. While in her master’s program, she served as Social Justice Project Chair and Cohort Liaison for the Multicultural Partnership of Workers for Equity and Resilience (M-POWER), received the Aspire Internship Grant, and graduated with honors as a member of the Chi Sigma Iota Honors Society.
Natalie grew up in Miami, Florida and moved to Utah in 2019. Her passion for working with adolescents developed throughout 7 years of service work and leadership for Life Teen Youth Groups in Miami. Her experiences working in adult residential rehabilitation left her passionate about early intervention for mental illness and substance use.
